Please read a bit about my personal background, our previous community involvement, and the experiences that will allow me to serve you as Mayor.

Personal

I have called South Frontenac Township home since Kim (Deline) - who was born and raised in SFT and I moved here from Kingston over 26 years ago.

2017 South Frontenac Volunteer Award.

2017 South Frontenac Volunteer Award.

We live on beautiful Sydenham Lake along with our two children Addy (17) and Mason (14), who have both been active in the community while growing up through volunteering at South Frontenac events and the annual food drive, as well as participating in dance, Girl Guides and Scouts, hockey, soccer, and baseball.

Prior to accepting a management position with Hastings County, I worked as an Advanced Care Paramedic in Kingston.  I maintained my certification and worked the occasional shift with the Frontenac Paramedic Service for 15-years.

I am a graduate of Queen's University and Niagara and St. Lawrence Colleges.

Experience

I took an early retirement this past March following almost 39 years working as a paramedic and paramedic service leader.

I worked in municipal government for the past 20 years.  My first 8 years were spent in Hastings County as the Deputy Chief of Emergency Medical Services.  In 2010, I moved to Lennox & Addington County, where I was the Chief of Emergency Services and a member of the County's Senior Leadership Team.

Both of these positions have provided an opportunity to work with various committees as well as County Councils.  This has included preparing reports and making presentations at Council meetings.  I have experience in the municipal budgetary process, including working to establish a departmental budget and then working within it.

Those dedicated years have also provided me with significant experience in human resources and labour relations, including negotiations and contract administration.  Additionally, I have developed extensive expertise in municipal emergency management, business continuity planning and project management.

Before moving into management, I was President of the union local representing the Kingston area Paramedics and Dispatchers for 12 years.  This required me to represent members through the grievance procedure, negotiate contracts, and be involved in both interest and rights arbitration cases.  The experiences gained through the union helped prepare me to make the move to management.  I have a unique perspective gained by sitting on both sides of the table.

I was the Citizen Appointee on the South Frontenac Township Police Services Board from 2010-2014.  It has allowed me to learn more about policing and the important role that the Police Services Board plays.

I was elected as a Loughborough District Councillor in the 2014 municipal election and ran for Mayor in 2018.
